It is important to make your initial contact with the surgery as early as possible (at least 8 weeks prior to travel) to ensure the vaccinations which are recommended have a long enough time period to be effective.
Initially, a travel vaccination questionnaire is required to be filled out which subsequently allows one of our nurses to review which vaccinations are recommended and required for the location you are travelling too. Please contact the surgery to gain access to a questionnaire.
The nurse then contacts you and arranges with you an appointment or a schedule of appointments to have these vaccinations done.
For specific immunisations which are not covered by the NHS, there is a set fee per vaccination, a list of these charges is held within reception if you require any further information.
However, if you are requiring your vaccinations urgently or within an 8 week period, the Wimborne Travel Clinic is a local organisation which should be able to meet your needs. They offer both vaccinations and travel health advice.
