Guide to Using Online Services
Patient confidentiality and Data Protection
When you register as a patient with the practice, we ask for personal information so that you can receive appropriate care and treatment. This information is recorded on the computer, and we are registered under the Data Protection Act.
The practice will ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained at all times by all members of the practice team. However, for the effective functioning of a multi-disciplinary team, it is sometimes necessary that medical information about you is shared by members of the team. In addition, other parts of the NHS may have access to your personal information from time to time e.g. If you are receiving hospital treatment, the hospital will require details of your relevant medical history.
Our surgery is accessible to patients using a wheelchair. We also have parking spaces outside our practice which are reserved for patients displaying a blue disabled badge. We can arrange interpretation and translation services in person or by phone for those patients who do not speak English. Please let us know if you require this service when booking an appointment.
Policy on violence and abusive patients
We aim to treat our patients courteously at all times and expect our patient to treat our staff in a similar respectful way.
We take seriously any threatening, abusive or violent behaviour against any of our staff or patients.
If a patient is violent or abusive, they will be warned to stop their behaviour. If they persist, we will exercise our right to take the necessary action to have them removed, immediately from our list of patients.
