Flu Vaccine Update 22nd November 2018

Like most Dorset GP Practices, we are currently out of stock of the vaccine for patients over 65. We are trying to resolve this as a matter of urgency. We are however awaiting advice and a response from Public Health England.

In the meanwhile we suggest that if you feel you are in urgent need of a flu vaccination as you are over 65 years of age, then please make your own arrangements with a local Pharmacy. You will not be charged by a Pharmacy for this service.

If you are aged 18 and under 65 years of age and are eligible for a flu vaccination please either contact the surgery on 01202 825353 or pop in and we will be able to organise an appointment for you to receive a flu vaccination.

Thank you for your patience in this matter, it is greatly appreciated.

We will keep updating this website regarding flu vaccinations as soon as we have any further information.

Patient confidentiality and Data Protection

At the Verwood Surgery we take the protection of your personal information very seriously. While our commitment to protecting your data has not changed, we have updated our Privacy Policy to explain, in greater detail, the types of information we collect and how we process that information. The updated Privacy Policy also outlines certain individual rights with respect to your personal information.

When you register as a patient with the practice, we ask for personal information so that you can receive appropriate care and treatment. This information is recorded on the computer, and we are registered under the Data Protection Act.

The practice will ensure that patient confidentiality is maintained at all times by all members of the practice team. However, for the effective functioning of a multi-disciplinary team, it is sometimes necessary that medical information about you is shared by members of the team. In addition, other parts of the NHS may have access to your personal information from time to time e.g. If you are receiving hospital treatment, the hospital will require details of your relevant medical history.

Please take a moment to review and familiarise yourself with our updated  Privacy Policy

Convenience:

Our surgery is accessible to patients using a wheelchair. We also have parking spaces outside our practice which are reserved for patients displaying a blue disabled badge. We can arrange interpretation and translation services in person or by phone for those patients who do not speak English. Please let us know if you require this service when booking an appointment.

Policy on violence and abusive patients

We aim to treat our patients courteously at all times and expect our patient to treat our staff in a similar respectful way.

We take seriously any threatening, abusive or violent behaviour against any of our staff or patients.

If a patient is violent or abusive, they will be warned to stop their behaviour. If they persist, we will exercise our right to take the necessary action to have them removed, immediately from our list of patients.
